Plan fixed wireless business internet

Fixed wireless uses a wireless connection to serve a site rather than requiring a wired last-mile installation. It can be considered for primary internet, temporary sites, or backup, subject to local coverage, capacity, equipment, and application requirements.

Choose the role of the connection

A primary connection must support normal daily operations. Temporary internet needs a clear deployment period and operating requirements. A backup connection needs an explicit failover design. Tell Advisor which role you need before comparing options.

Gather your site requirements

  • Site addresses and whether the location is permanent, temporary, or awaiting wired service.
  • Expected users, connected devices, business applications, and usage patterns.
  • Upload needs, latency sensitivity, VPN access, and any inbound connectivity requirements.
  • Whether Wi-Fi, wired LAN connectivity, or both are needed.
  • Existing equipment, installation constraints, and target service date.

Test service where the router will sit

Building materials, equipment placement, antennas, and local network conditions affect performance. Availability is not a promise of a particular speed indoors. Validate service at the intended installation point and under realistic business traffic.

Plan equipment and operations together

Plan the cellular connection, router, Wi-Fi, network configuration, and management together. Ask how equipment will be prepared, delivered, installed, and supported. Confirm commercial terms and availability for the configuration you select.

Example: opening a branch

A new branch waiting for a wired circuit may need internet for staff, payment systems, and opening-day operations. Share the address, expected duration, applications, and Wi-Fi needs. If the connection will later become backup, plan that transition before deployment.

Common questions

Can fixed wireless be my primary internet?

It can be suitable when local service, application performance, usage, and commercial terms fit your needs. Validate those requirements for each site.

Is Wi-Fi automatically included?

Wi-Fi is a separate network requirement. Tell Advisor whether you need Wi-Fi so it can check equipment and configuration requirements.

Does fixed wireless include automatic failover?

Do not assume it does. Automatic failover depends on the router, topology, configuration, and chosen service.
